Brian D. Stokes received his Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 1981, and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1984 with a Juris Doctor degree. He rejoined the firm in 2000 after a two-year stint as the managing attorney of the Florida Staff Counsel Office of Reliance Insurance Company. Mr. Stokes was previously with the firm from 1995 through 1998.

As a member of the Florida Bar, Mr. Stokes is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts for Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Orange County Bar Association.

Mr. Stokes has given several lectures and presentations on the subjects of civil jury trials and medical malpractice.

Mr. Stokes is alumnus of Leadership Orlando. Active in community affairs, Mr. Stokes was, at the age of 19, elected and served as a member of the Indian Harbour Beach City Council in Brevard County, Florida. He still holds the record as the youngest council member in the city's history. He is a former member of Big Brothers of Alachua County. He has also served as secretary and president of the Central Florida Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Until 1997, he provided services as soccer referee to local middle and high schools through the Florida High School Activities Association. Since 1985, he has accepted appointments from the local circuit courts as Guardian Ad Litem for children involved in the legal system.

In 1994, Mr. Stokes was the recipient of the Orlando Legal Aid Society's Award of Excellence in recognition for service by pro bono representation of the poor. In 1994, he also received the Brevard Community College Distinguished Alumnus Award. He has been named several times by the publishers of Law and Politics as a Florida “Super Lawyer”.

Mr. Stokes specializes in civil trial work with an emphasis on the defense of medical malpractice matters and personal injury claims.

He lives in Orlando with his wife and two children.
